Modern drivers often need to stay connected on the go, and that goes double for parents. These 2017 Honda Odyssey technology features bridge the gap between smartphone and minivan and make it easier to stay connected to the outside world.
Bluetooth: Pair a smartphone or other device with the Odyssey’s standard Bluetooth system and the two will sync up automatically when you start the vehicle. Pairing a smartphone lets you make hands-free phone calls and stream audio wirelessly; the Odyssey even includes SMS text messaging capabilities and Pandora Internet Radio compatibility.
HondaLink Telematics: If a vehicle and a smartphone are truly connected, they should be able to do more than make calls and stream audio. The Odyssey’s available HondaLink telematics system offers more, streaming your favorite content—including social media feeds—directly into the Odyssey and allowing you to check up on your minivan’s status and schedule service appointments via the HondaLink app.
Navigation: The Odyssey’s available navigation system does more than get you from point A to point B; it responds to voice controls so you can change destinations while driving, offers turn-by-turn directions, scouts out possible points of interest, and routes you on the quickest path—even around traffic.
It’s important to keep peace in a minivan full of kids, and sometimes the best way to do that is to ensure everyone is entertained. These standard and available entertainment features will help overcome the boredom of kids and adults on the long ride.
Rear DVD Entertainment System: Put a favorite movie or TV show in and let the rear passengers focus on something else for a long drive or when stuck in traffic. A 115-volt outlet, available ultrawide screen, and available HDMI input make it easy to bring games along for the ride, too.
Audio System: A 240-watt, seven-speaker audio system is standard on the Odyssey, but drivers looking for a more powerful stereo system will find it in the available 650-watt, 12-speaker surround sound system.
Audio Sources: The days of being limited to the CD player and the radio are long gone; in addition to those audio options, the Odyssey features Bluetooth audio as well as USB and auxiliary audio inputs. SiriusXM satellite radio and HD radio are also available.
While we love how easy it is to stay connected and entertained in a modern vehicle, we’re especially grateful for the 2017 Honda Odyssey technology features that make a driver’s life a little bit easier.
Smart Entry: This Odyssey feature is able to detect when your key fob is nearby, allowing you to just walk up to the minivan and open the door. Simply press a button on the handle to lock everything up after you park.
Push-Button Start: As with Smart Entry, this feature senses when your keys are near. Just push the “Start” button on the dash to head off—no need to dig for keys in your purse or pocket.
Power Liftgate: No one likes to juggle grocery bags or struggle trying to lift the family dog up into the back of the minivan while also trying to open the liftgate. The Odyssey’s available power liftgate lets the minivan do the work for you.
Power Sliding Doors: The Odyssey loads and unloads with ease thanks to its available power sliding doors; just pull the handle and let the door do the rest.
HondaVAC: Honda’s exclusive vacuum cleaner is built into select Odyssey models; it’s a breeze to keep the minivan clean with a vacuum cleaner to sweep up any spills before they become stains.
Memory Settings: Available driver’s seat memory settings and memory-linked mirrors ensure that the Odyssey always feels how you left it, even after handing the keys over to someone else.
